February 16th (2018)

    Room: Private Residence

Shambhala Day marks the beginning of the New Year, and represents one of the most important traditions of Shambhala Buddhism.  Based on the traditional Tibetan New Year celebration of Losar, the day is calculated astrologically according to the Tibetan lunar calendar, and changes every year to coincide with the annual lunar changes.

This year Shambhala day is February 16. It is a time for us to express the wealth and richness of spiritual and cultural heritage through feasting, conviviality, pomp, and elegance. As is customary, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche will address the worldwide Shambhala community online, including centres and groups from six continents, and over thirty countries.

This is also the opportunity for Shambhala community members to donate to the ongoing activities of Sakyong  Mipham Rinpoche and Shambhala International. Fundraising will be done as a live, real time event, allowing each group to watch as their donations combine with the generosity of the Shambhala community around the planet.
